King & Queen of the Mountain

The Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo features a the King and Queen of the Mountain for Medio and Gran Fondo competitors. Riders in both categories will be able to challenge for the fastest time up the 2km Fort Steele Hill. Top male and female riders in two separate age categories: Open (49 & Under) and Masters (50+) will compete for a chance to win a $50.00 gift certificate to Kimberley’s Pedal and Tap restaurant.

The King and Queen of the Mountain starts at approximately 82km for the Medio and 132km for the Gran Fondo ride. The idea behind the KRGF King & Queen of the Mountain is to create excitement amongst seasoned and experienced cyclists as well as our goal of making this a fun ride.

E-bikes ineligible for this award.

The Heidout

Team Spirit Award 2022

The KRGF TEAM SPIRIT award will be handed out to the group of riders who are the best dressed and most enthusiastic throughout the ride.

There is no I in TEAM so the award will be given out to groups between three and six riders. This years champions will be awarded a gift card (Max six) compliments of THE HEID OUT RESTAURANT AND BREWHOUSE. A team trophy engraved with the team members names will also be given out and displayed in the Heid Out Restaurant.
